Sweet Waffle Farm’s Body Lotions moisturize and nourish dry and damaged skin without feeling too greasy. Our base Body Lotion formulation is comparable in thickness and consistency to our hemp line of lotions. This is a good all-around lotion for people wanting a little longer absorption and a soft, dry finish that remains light on the skin.

Our Body Lotion is naturally bright white from oils that we use in this formulation.

In Greek Mythology, Persephone was the goddess of Spring and vegetation.  While gathering flowers. she was kidnapped by Hades and taken to the Underworld.  While there, Hades tricked her into eating Pomegranate seeds.  The god Hermes is sent to retrieve Persephone, but having tasted the food of the Underworld, she was compelled to return every year.  Her annual return to the land of the living ushers in the bounty of Spring.  In Winter when Persephone is forced to return to the Underworld, the despair of her mother Demeter, goddess of the harvest, causes the vegetation to stop growing.

Persephone’s Kiss is a quintessential Springtime fragrance.  Mandarin orange, melon, blackberry, and violet leaf comprise the top notes followed by notes of lavender, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley, and nectarine sitting on bottom notes of fresh honey, oak, and musk.

🧪 INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN 🧪

🌱 SOYBEAN OIL – Composed primarily of linoleic acid and oleic acid, soybean oil is also rich in alpha-linoleic acid (ALA), stearic acid, and palmitic acid. Soybean oil allows for the infusion of lipids to hydrate and protect skin cells. Soybean oil helps replenish the lipid barrier to help hold in the skin’s intrinsic moisture while softening dry, chaffed, and damaged skin.

🌱 SUNFLOWER OIL – Composed primarily of linoleic and oleic acids and rich in Vitamin E, sunflower oil has excellent penetrating and moisturizing qualities while displaying good spread ability on the skin. Sunflower oil is well-tolerated by all skin types.

🌱 GRAPE SEED OIL – Composed primarily of linoleic acid and oleic acid, grape seed oil is also rich in palmitic acid and stearic acid. Grape seed oil easily penetrates the skin, and the high linoleic acid content makes it good for acne-prone or injured skin. Grape seed oil is also believed to help preserve the natural moisture in aging skin.

🌱 OLIVE OIL – Composed primarily of linoleic acid and oleic acid, olive oil is very moisturizing and is great for dry and irritated skin.

🌱 HEMP SEED OIL – Composed primarily of linoleic and gamma-linolenic (GLA) acids, hemp seed oil also contains a large amount of alpha-linolenic (ALA) acid. Hemp seed oil has excellent moisturizing qualities and helps nourish dry and damaged skin. GLA has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and barrier repair properties. Hemp seed oil contains no THC.

🌱 MANGO BUTTER – Composed primarily of stearic acid and oleic acid, mango butter brings long lasting emollience to lotions and helps to nourish skin and boost elasticity and suppleness. Mango butter also contains a high amount of tannins and polyphenols which provide anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

🌱 VEGETABLE GLYCERIN – Glycerin serves as a humectant helping to draw water in to nourish dry skin.

🌱 EMULSIFYING WAX – E-waxes prevent separation of the oil phase and the water phase of lotions and cream, so the lotions are able to have both nourishing (oil phase) and hydrating (water phase) properties.

🌱 STEARIC ACID – This is a naturally occurring waxy compound that helps thicken lotions and creams.

🌱 PHENOXYETHANOL AND CAPRYLYL GLYCOL – Every lotion MUST have a preservative, because bad little microbes like bacteria and mold love those nourishing fats and oils just as much as our skin. Without a preservative, EVERY lotion and cream will become unsafe to use within a few days. Although they are beneficial for other reasons, antioxidants like Vitamin E and Vitamin C do not serve the same function as a preservative. This formulation uses Optiphen (listed as “Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol”) as the preservative.

🌱 FRAGRANCE – All fragrances that we use in our lotions and creams are phthalate free.

🌱 PIGMENTS AND COLORING AGENTS – Our body lotions do not contain any additional coloring agents. The white color is solely from the oils used in the formulation.
